Bronze

Love Vanessa Hudgens’ hair makeup at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. I know, I know, it totally screams summer, but I can’t resist looking bronze (especially when we’re STILL getting summer weather in California)!

Makeup artist Karan Mitchell created this look using the following products:

Eyes: “For this look I used the darkest color from the Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Quad in Copper Glow on Vanessa’s eyelid, and the Neutrogena Skin Soothing Eye Tint in Honey Shimmer on the brow bone. Next I lined Vanessa’s eyes as well as the inner rim with Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner in Spiced Chocolate.

…I finished her eyes with three coats of Neutrogena Healthy Volume Waterproof Mascara in Carbon Black.”

Face: “I evened out her skin tone with the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup in Tan and gave her a glow using the Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Blush in Natural Apricot.”

Lips:”For her lips I started with the Neutrogena MoistureShine Lip Sheers in Sparkling Nude and topped it with the Neutrogena Moisture Shine Gloss in Fizz.”

XOXO, Alyson

Hot and Steamy

Khloe Kardashian at the 2009 Maxim Hot 100 Party

Perfect for a sexy night out! Some of the products may be unavailable now, but there are plenty of substitutions!

1. I blended a liquid foundation a few shades warmer than Khloe’s natural skin tone to give her a sun-kissed, healthy glow.

2. I then dusted the bronzing powder into her cheeks, along her jawline, and across her forehead.
(Sustitutions: Dior Matte Bronzer or Dior Bronze Original Tan, and DiorSkin Shimmer Star in Amber Diamond.

3. I blended a sunny peach blush across her cheeks, chest, and shoulders for extra radiance.
(Substitutions: DiorBlush in Peachy Keen)

4. For her eyes, I blended a creme shimmery black eye shadow just to her upper lid.  Then lined her upper eyelid with liquid eye liner, curled and coated her lashes with black mascara, and drew a very thin black line below her bottom lashes, and I lined the inside with a soft white eyeliner to pen and brighten Khloe’s eyes. I wanted this look to be sensual and dramatic, not over done.
(Substitutions: Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Caviar, Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Color Eyeshadow Palette in Mitzah, and Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes in White 14L.)

5. For the lips, I applied a sheer gold lip gloss that came in the bronzing Dior kit.
(Substitutions: YSL Golden Gloss in #1 or #7)

Since Troy Jensen’s blog is being updated and is unavailable, pictures and instructions were found here.

Have a good weekend everyone!

XOXO, Alyson

The eyes are definitely the key to the look. White eyeliner was used in the inside of the eyes and lots and lots of mascara applied on both upper and lower lashes. Individual lashes were also glued on layer by layer to finish the look.

Different products were used to give the models their perfect shimmery bronzed look. A sparkling pink powder – Sexy Little Things Give Me The Shimmers Body Powder ($28-no longer available) – was also brushed on to create a toned body and cover all flaws.

Substitutions:

Hair
To create a sexy bedhead on the models, mousse was first applied on wet hair and set on large rollers and clips. A vertical curling iron was then used and the look was finished with a gloss.
